Even in the midst of political mudslinging, the pressures of rising prices and the depressed dollar, it is still good to be an American.

One of the privileges of being an American is the right to vote.  When we need a new American Idol…we vote.  To determine which star dances better, which model walks better, what designer can design better and what fatty is the biggest loser, we vote.

At the Kevin and Liz show there is an annual event we call “NEWS HOTTIE”.  It is designed to identify those local news persons that inform us day in and day out and make even the worst news some how more palatable just because they are so hot.

Even the worst weather somehow feels better when it’s delivered by a hottie.  Your favorite team may have lost, but that losing score seems closer because the sports guy/gal is steamy.  Reporters outside a courthouse describing the shooting just make you want to go there to be in the presence of their hotness.  And those nightly anchors that we willingly invite in to our bedrooms each night to snuggle up with and fantasize about as we drift off to sleep.

Those people should be recognized and that is why we do what we do.  Because of how hot they are doing what they do.

Don’t forget to vote this year and let your voice be heard.  We need to know who turns you on.

Thank you.  And God Bless America.

Liz

People of the Ozarks, it is time for you to stand forth and be counted.

Time for you to think of your fellow citizens and put your community ahead of you own needs.

Together we will…we MUST...stand as one, united, together, under one banner…to select the News Hotties of this year, 2008.

It is a time to pass the torch of hotness to a new generation of anchors, reporters, meteorologists and sports aficionados.

This is important work; we will make or break careers here. We will choose a rookie and bestow a lifetime achievement award.

We will show the local television news outlets WE THE PEOPLE are paying attention and they should act accordingly.

The Springfield television media outlets must know we do care about their hair, mustaches and pantsuits, and consider their make-up and sultry stares into the camera.

We pay close attention to their breathy forecasts and obviously we want it…we want it bad…because we keep coming back.  It is the fifth estate…it is Newshottie 2008.
